Ambient Gallery
Ambient Gallery is an Android TV / Google TV application. Its purpose is to display user-selected photos and videos from Google Photos on a television as an ambient slideshow.
Users will be able to connect their Google Account, choose the Google Photos content they want to display on a TV, and view both photos and videos in a simple full-screen ambient experience.
Purpose of Ambient Gallery
Ambient Gallery is designed specifically to provide a TV-based ambient slideshow using media selected by the user from Google Photos. The application is intended for Android TV and Google TV devices.
How Ambient Gallery is intended to work
- Connect a Google Account to the TV application.
- Select media for the device through the Google Photos Ambient API flow.
- Display the selected Google Photos photos and videos on the television.
- Allow the user to change the selected media or disconnect Google Photos at any time.
Current status
Ambient Gallery is currently in the prototype and API-integration preparation stage. Production access to the Google Photos Ambient API is under review.
